How States Can Increase Their Graduation Rates

To raise graduation rates from 30% to 60%, universities need help from many places as well as themselves. The government could increase Pell Grant funding. They could also lower interest rates on federal subsidized Stafford loans. Universities could lower tuition costs and only charge fee's to students who use those special services. Universities should put their money earned back into the school and not be corrupt with the money. They should not dump it all into sports programs. They should put money into programs to help students maintain their grades. If a students GPA drops universities should make tutoring programs mandatory. If a student has a history of a certain interest and has demonstrated dedication to projects in that field and is self-motivated, they should offer independent study programs for those students and not make them take all the elective classes that might not help them in their field.
