The first project I surveyed is called HarvestGeek. It has been 188% funded and has $47,054 pledged. This project is basically what we are creating for our class project, but we will also provide default profiles for different plants and cater towards the market that wants good food but doesn't necessarily know how to grow plants. They use cosm/pachube where we will have our own personal cloud host. Pachube is limited in that you can't change the way the web interface looks.

The second project I surveyed is called Bitponics. It has been 118% funded and has $23,662 pledged. This project is geared towards hydroponic gardening. The nice thing about this project is they use a database of different plants optimal growing conditions and users can contribute to this database. The grower can then select a plan for their hydroponic garden. The grower will be notified by email, sms or whatever they choose when they need to change the water. This project also uses pachube/cosm.
